rhomboid Wedge-shaped or diamond-shaped; refers to a caudal fin shape in which the middle rays are longest and the upper and lower portions of the terminal border of the fin are more or less straight; essentially the opposite of forked. An uncommon fin shape most often found in the croakers and flatfishes.
