fathom The unit of depth in the ocean for countries using the Imperial system of units. One fathom is equal to 6 feet or 1.83 meters. Also sometimes used in expressing horizontal distances, in which case 120 fathoms make one cable or very nearly one-tenth of a nautical mile (about 180 m). 　
噚 對於使用英制單位的國家在海洋中的深度單位。一個噚是等於六呎或一點八三公尺。也有時被用於表達水平的距離，在這個情況，一百二十噚作一個電纜或非常相近於十分之一海浬(大約一百八十公尺)。
