Characteristic	Dorsal fin with VIII-IX spines and 14-15 soft rays; anal fin with 14-15 soft rays; pectoral fin with 14 soft rays; lateral line scales 59-64; gill rakers 1+7-8; vertebrae 10-11+20-21. Rostral projection formed by 1 strong outer spine and several prominent inner spines. Upper jaw reaching below anterior border of pupil. Scales rather deciduous. Inner surface of pectoral fin uniformly blackish-blue.
habitats	Inhabit demersal marine environment, attains 18cm TL, other ecological behavior is not clear yet.
Distribution	Northwest Pacific: southern Japan and the East China Sea.
