oral incubation A form of parental care in which one parent (usually the male) carries the fertilized eggs in his mouth until they hatch. In reef fishes, only the cardinalfishes and pseudochromoids are known to brood their eggs in this fashion. Also known as mouth brooding, less aptly, oral gestation; e.g. certain Apogonidae, Ariidae. 　
口孵 親代養育的一種形式，一個親代 (通常是雄魚)會用它的口部照顧受精卵，直到子代孵化。在珊瑚礁魚類中，只有天竺鯛與准雀鯛被知道以這種方式孵卵。也稱作 mouth brooding 或 oral gestation(較不適用)。 例如某些天竺鯛科、海鯰科的魚。
