pelagic spawner A species that sheds pelagic eggs into the water column at the peak of a conspicuous spawning ascent. A species that has numerous buoyant eggs, none or poorly developed embryonic respiratory organs, little pigment, no photophobia, e.g. Platichthys flesus. 　
浮性產卵魚 在產卵時衝向水層，在最高點時昇至顯著高峰期時，將浮性卵排入水體的魚種。一種有很多浮性卵、沒有或者發展不良的胚胎呼吸器官、色素斑很少及沒有畏光的魚，例如川鰈。
