euphotic zone The surface waters of the sea or of a lake where enough light penetrates for photosynthesis to occur, down to about 80 metres. The depth of the euphotic zone varies with the water's extinction coefficient, the angle of incidence of the sunlight, length of day and cloudiness. 　
透光區 指海面下或湖面下光線可以到達的並行使光合作用的水域，大約在水下80公尺深的地方。此水域深度會隨著水的消光係數、日光照射角度、及晝夜長度而改變。
