ciguatoxin A toxic substance accumulated up the food chain in the flesh and viscera of some fish, also: the poison causing ciguatera poisoning. Exact chemical and pharmacological properties are unknown. May be a complex biotoxin with several fractions or several chemically unrelated compounds. May be a phospholipid. The formula C28 H52 NO5 C1 has been proposed. 　
雪卡毒素 主要以含有脂溶性氧飽和之多醚類化合物(fat-soluble oxygenated polyether) ciguatoxin-1 為主(佔90%上)，但仍可能含有其他類似之醚類化合物，如 ciguatoxin-2、 ciguatoxin-3、maitotoxin、scaritoxin等。此種毒素為對溫度穩定之化合物，因此加熱、冷凍、乾燥等步驟皆無法破壞其毒性。ciguatoxin 之來源為來自生物鏈的累積作用，由雙鞭毛藻 Gambierdiscus toxicus 而來，經食物鏈不斷累積在某些魚類的肌肉
