trophotaeniae Ribbon-like extensions from the anal or urogenital region of embryonic Goodeidae, Parabrotula (Zoarcidae), Oligopus and Microbrotula (Ophidioidei) which intermingle with ovigerous folds and transfer nutrient material between mother and young.
