cryogenic storage The preservation of seeds, semen, embryos, or micro-organisms at extremely low temperatures, below -130°C . At these temperatures, water is absent, molecular kinetic energy is low, diffusion is virtually nil, and storage potential is expected to be extremely long. For fish, only sperms can be stored successfully.　
超低溫保存 種子、精液、胚胎或微生物以低溫冷凍長期保存細胞，並在需要時予以解凍，重新培養。 在低溫之下(-130 °C )，分子的動能非常低，化學反應時間極慢，所以可以長時間儲藏。
