genus According to the Code, a group of phylogenetically related species or a single species forming a taxonomic category ranking between the family and the species; a group term used in classifying organisms; contains one or more related species; the rank within the genus group next below the family group and above subgenus; a taxon at the rank of genus; in scientific classifications, an assemblage of species possessing certain characters in common, by which they are distinguished; subordinate to phylum, class, order and family and superordinate to species. 屬 根據命名法規，一群系統發育相關的種或單一種形成一個在科與種之間的分類階層；一個群體字被用於生物分類；包含一個或多個相關種類；在科群與上方亞屬之間的，本屬群體的階層；在屬階層的一個分類單元；在科學分類，持有共同的特定特徵的種集合，依此特徵將他們區別出來；低於門、綱、目與科，而高於種。動物學的屬獨特的名稱。
