形態特徵

胸鰭條數：1+3-4；腹鰭軟條數：5-9；背鰭軟條數：12-15；臀鰭軟條數：14-18；脊椎骨數：57-59；發光器排列：IP 8+2=10, PV 26-27, VAV 17-18, AC 12-13, IC 64-67, OV 30-34, VAL 11-14, OA 44-45。下頜鬚細長，呈黑色，末端為兩連接的球狀構造，且存在許多絲狀分支，長度約為標準體長之7-16%；身體呈黑色。(2015/12/16李茂熒、林沛立編寫)

棲所生態

大洋性中層魚類，生態習性不甚清楚，棲息深度介於250-600公尺間。 
地理分布

全球性種類，分布在除東太平洋外的海域。臺灣分布於南部海域。 
漁業利用

一般以底拖網捕獲，不具食用經濟價值，通常做為下雜魚用。
