habitats Occurs in coral-rich areas of lagoon and seaward reefs. Feeds mainly on fishes, also on octopus or crustaceans. 
Distribution Indo-Pacific: Red Sea and East Africa, Taiwan, Ryukyu and Hawaiian islands, Micronesia.
