Characteristic	Elongate fishes with soft, flabby body; trunk short; tail elongate, compressed and tapering. Longest ray of pelvic fin thin, long reaching to or near tip of pectoral fin. Lip of upper jaw thin. Upper jaw with a short band of villiform teeth; lower jaw, palatine, pre vomer and tongue toothless. Body purplish-brown, semi-transparent.
habitats	Sandy-muddy bottoms from 100 to 600m depth. Little known of general biology. Possibly feed on benthic invertebrates.
Distribution	Taiwan, Japan, East and South China Sea. It found in southern Taiwanese waters.
Utility	No commercial importance.
