Characteristic	Dorsal fin with VI spines, and 13 soft rays; anal fin with III spines and 9~10 soft rays. Caudal fin forked. Cover with small Ctenoid Scales. Abdomen middle line between pelvic fin and anal fin has 10-15 scutes. Body grey brown, all fins are light except for pectoral fin is light red.
habitats	Inhabit bathypelagic marine environment; depth range 280 - 600 m. Attain maxi size 25.4cm SL.
Distribution	Northwest Pacific: Kyushu-Palau Ridge and Hawaii. Could possibly be off Viet Nam (Moore, pers. comm.).
