Characteristic	Body elongate. Cirri usually present above eye, arranged in 2-3 rows; occipital region absent. Body covered with very thin cycloid scales, often fused with skin; lateral line short, continues to apex of pectoral fin.Dorsal fin long, with XXIV to XXVI spines and 16 yo 18 soft rays; anal fin with II spines and 28 yo 30 soft rays. Coloration variable individually, no black spot between 1st and 2nd dorsal spines.
habitats	Inhabits rocky reefs near low tide mark.
Distribution	Distributed in the Northwest Pacific from Okinawa Island, Japan and Taiwan. It is found in northeastern and northern Taiwanese waters.
Utility	No commercial value.
