Characteristic	Dorsal rays XII-XIII, 12-13; Anal rays II, 12-13; pectoral rays 17-18; lateral-line scales 15-17; body depth 1.9-2.0 in standard length. 2 spinous procurrent caudal rays on both upper and lower orgins of caudal fin. Overall color is brown with a prominent black spot on the base of the pectoral fin. Caudal fin and peduncle white.
habitats	Inhabits coral or rocky outer reefs from10 to 60m depth.
Distribution	Distributed in northwest Pacific from Miyake-jima, Bonin Islands of Japan and south to Taiwan. It is very rare and only found in Lanyu, southeastern Taiwan.
Utility	No commercial value.
