Characteristic Dorsal-fin rays 71-77; anal-fin rays 53-58; pectoral-fin rays 5. Dorsal and ventral fins with no prolonged filiform rays; caudal with branched rays; ventral vertebrae with some weak nephrohaemal arches and their spine forked. Colour pattern on eyed side without dark rings about size of eye on or immediately below lateral line. Pectoral fin black; scales in lateral line 50-60.
habitats Found in sublittoral zone on sandy mud bottoms. Feeds on benthic animals. 
Distribution Western Pacific: South China Sea. Taiwan: South, North-East, West. 
Utility Rare species, apparently not marketed.
