Characteristic Body spindle-shaped and moderately long. Snout pointed and acutely conical. Large teeth without cusplets or serrations. Cusps of 1st upper anterior teeth with incomplete cutting edges. Tips of anterior teeth strongly reflexed, cusps narrower and more oblique. First dorsal fin large, Second dorsal and anal fins minute, and with pivoting bases. habitats This is a common and extremely active shark species. Ovoviviparous, with a uterine cannibal. Litter size 4-25. Maximum size estimated to be about 4 m in TL. Size at birth estimated to be about 60-70 cm in TL.
