| 形態特徵 | 體長而側扁。頭中等大小。眼大。吻短且吻端圓鈍；上頜邊緣由前上頜骨構成，上頜後緣約達眼眶後緣，上下頜骨具發達齒列。鰓條骨7。體被圓鱗，易脫落，鱗片小，頰部以及鰓蓋部位不具鱗片，橫列鱗片較側線鱗多10枚，側線非常明顯而發達，並且呈現黑色。具發光器。背鰭和臀鰭位於身體的後端靠近尾柄的位置，背鰭起點在臀鰭起點前方，各鰭均無硬棘，背鰭軟條16，臀鰭軟條14-18；腹鰭小，位於體中部稍前；尾鰭深叉。體色為深褐色，頭部顏色略深。
