Characteristic Dorsal-fin rays 67-71; anal-fin rays 63-73; pectoral-fin rays 12-13. Caudal fin with 2 simple rays on upper and lower margins, and with 2 broad dark bands, and the pectoral fin much shorter than the head. In males, middle part of body on blind side dark-blue and interorbital width broader than that of females.
