Characteristic Disc nearly 2.1 as wide as long, anterior margins slightly convex, posterior margins concave. Snout long, produced. Head thick, prominent. Rostral fins flag, distinct from the pectorals. Eyes prominent, lateral. Spiracles lateral, behind eye, can not visible from above. Dorsal fin small, orgin above the ends of the bases of the ventrals. Ventrals narrow, hind margin rounded. Tail long, without a caudal spine. Body with small spines. Green-brown above, with irregular network.
habitats Found in muddy bays and banks and on coral reefs from close inshore to 110 m depth Ovoviviparous. Probably caught in bottom trawls, gillnets, seines, and fish traps. Presumably utilized as food in the western central Pacific.
